Holiday and Christmas Baking

Gingerbread cookie garland

Give your holiday visitors gingerbread cookie parting treats as a thoughtful gesture. Let them snip from a decorative swag, hung by the door, a wrapped gingerbread cookie as they depart.
Gingerbread Cookie parting Gifts are a really cute decoration around your front door. How fun it is for guests to snip an individually wrapped cookie from the garland to take home with them. One of my very favorite holiday ideas! Gingerbread Cookie garland treats

Russian Tea Cakes

Favorite holiday treats from your kitchen. Christmas baking recipes for cookies, black bottom cups, shortbread, gingerbread and no-cooking peppermint bark.
I first had Russian Tea cakes as a child at the home of my best friend. Her mom made what she called, Mexican Wedding cakes. Tender, melt-in-your-mouth cookies rolled in sweet confectioners sugar that also go by the name of snowballs. Russian Tea Cakes

Black Bottom Cakes

Not a Christmas eve has passed in the past 30 plus years that Black Bottom Cups weren’t included in our menu. The adults love them as much as the kids. What’s not to love about a rich chocolate cupcake along with a cream cheese filling and a crunchy nut topping. Try Black Bottom Cups.

Spritzgeback or Spritz for short

Spritz or Spritzgebäck cookies, are festive and buttery, made using a cookie press then decorated with colorful sugars. Easy to make Christmas favorite.
Festive shaped, buttery cookies are decorated with colorful sugars. Pretty, delicious and easy to make with a cookie press. Spritz Cookies

Italian Pizzelles

Favorite holiday treats from your kitchen. Christmas baking recipes for cookies, black bottom cups, shortbread, gingerbread and no-cooking peppermint bark.
Another family favorite and so pretty are pizzelles. A crisp Italian cookie recipe from a neighbor is the best I have ever eaten. So good with a piping hot cup of tea! They make great gifts too! Find the recipe by clicking: Pizzelles

Peppermint Bark

A yummy, no-bake treat of peppermint bark is a nice addition to your cookie tray. Let the kids help by crushing candy canes and sprinkling on top of the chocolate. Get easy recipe for Peppermint Bark.

White Chocolate Cherry Shortbread

Tiny, dainty and just delicious. Cherry shortbread cookies have bits of chopped cherries through the cookie and are dipped in white chocolate. Cherry Shortbread

  1. Chocolate Pretzel Christmas Tree Cupcake Toppers | Grateful Prayer | Thankful Heart says:
    November 2, 2017 at 7:24 pm

[…] NOTE: You will need to refill the bottle several times with more candy melts and melt them as before. Be sure to tap the spout of the bottle on the counter so the candy melts flow easily as you create each tree. Cover a baking sheet with waxed paper. Place pretzel sticks on baking sheet, spacing them 2 to 3 inches apart. Squeeze or pipe the melted candy melts over the pretzel stick in the shape of a tree then immediately top the tree with sprinkles. Make the trees thick with fewer “branches” or thinner with more “branches” depending how fast you move the bottle. After a few tries, you’ll find your groove and favorite look. The trees aren’t as fragile as they appear even after lifting them from the waxed paper lined pan and storing. Cool pan in refrigerator a few minutes until the trees have fully cooled and hardened. Store between sheets of waxed paper in an air-tight container. I kept mine in the refrigerator and inserted then into the center of the cupcakes just before serving.
