Welcome to Grateful Prayer Thankful Heart
I’m so glad you’re here!

Introduction:
I’m Lorraine, and my husband, partner, amazing encourager and helper is John (the Techie Guy). He helps with proofreading and replying to comments. I manage the content, cooking/baking, photography, design, and overall direction of our site.
We’ve been married almost 50 years, have four adult daughters (the middle two are twins), and 16 grandchildren.
We enjoy working together here and wherever life takes us. Together, we share from our home and hearts to encourage yours.
Whether you’re looking for a comforting recipe, a craft to make and share, a practical home idea, or a moment of quiet faith, we hope you’ll find inspiration and joy here. This space is a celebration of everyday blessings, and we’re honored to welcome you in.
What you will find here:
This is a place to find lots of food and recipes, with occasional crafts and some DIY, with easy to follow instructions and helpful photos for your success. All served up with large doses of encouragement!
We share ideas and inspiration that will help make your life easier.
We post about:
• Comforting, home-style recipes for weeknights, celebrations, and everything in between
• Faith reflections and seasonal devotions to encourage your heart when life feels uncertain or heavy
• Creative projects and DIYs, including crochet, printables, and simple crafts for gifting or enjoying
• Hosting and homemaking ideas to help you welcome others with ease and grace
• Gardening tips and backyard stories, including visits from butterflies, hummingbirds, and the occasional critter
• Travel notes and favorite places, from London and Paris to Lancaster County, Philadelphia, New York, D.C., the Carolinas, and Texas
• Family-centered fun, with ideas and activities for kids and grandkids
• And every now and then, a cheerful post about dogs—because I simply love them
Everything we share is meant to uplift, guide, and help you make the most of your days.
How we got here
I started blogging back in 2008 as a place to organize a huge collection of recipes. I was brand new to it all, learning as I went, and never imagined it would grow into something more. But it did. Somehow, someway, people saw something helpful and began to follow along. And we grew.
We’ve been making big improvements and changes, still updating older posts, learning new tools, and improving the site so that your experience here is even better. Through it all, we’ve remained focused on sharing what is good, useful, and encouraging.
You can help
YOU are why we do what we do. Your feedback helps guide what we create and share.
What kinds of posts or projects would you like to see more of…
- What are you most interested in seeing?
- What are your biggest challenges in daily life, cooking, or faith?
What helps you most during hard days or busy seasons?
We read every note and truly appreciate your thoughts.
