Like the original recipe, chocolate chocolate-chip cookies are a crowd-pleaser. Whether you pair with your favorite ice cream or a huge glass of ice-cold milk, the richness of these cookies make a perfect end-of-dinner treat.
Chocolate Chocolate-Chip Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 cups chocolate chips, 2 Hershey’s chocolate bars, chopped or M&M’S
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl stir together flour, salt, and baking soda. In another large bowl stir together butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla and cocoa (I did this in a mixer). Gradually stir flour mixture into butter mixture and mix until combined. Stir chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, and stir to distribute evenly.
For cookies: Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake about 10 minutes. Cool on a baking rack.
For bars: Pat dough into a greased 9 inch square baking pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into squares when cooled

these look just like the ones I make at work but I'm betting yours are better because they are made fresh at home instead of from frozen cookie dough. 🙂
Since I have a chocolate/peanut butter addiction sometimes I cut the chocolate ones in half and pair it with a half of a peanut butter cookie before baking.

Thansks so much for stopping by!
In regards to your question about the painted patio brick, I think it held up fairly well because it is exposed to the Sun all day long when the sun is out. When I first did it, I did use a lot of paint for the initial coat which cost about $30 a can. I was able to get all that I did this year out of that same can and still have enough to most likely refresh it again next year so you are looking at about $10 a year as far as cost. We decided not to put a sealer on it as the sealer is $40 a can and could make the concrete slippery when wet and my luck would be to slip and break a hip!! LOL! we decided to refresh the paint once a year is not too much of a task for how inexpensive it is……
I hope this helped and if you have any other questions about it, please feel free to email me…
Hugs,
Deb
