Classic Spritz Cookies Recipe
This recipe came with the Pampered Chef cookie press.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter or margarine, softened (do not substitute vegetable oil spread)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (14 ounces)
Colored sugar or sprinkles (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375°F. In Classic Batter Bowl, beat butter on medium speed of electric mixer until creamy. Add sugar, egg and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, 1 cup at a time; mix well. Dough will be soft; do not refrigerate.
Fill Cookie Press, fitted with disk of your choice, with dough using Medium Scoop. Press dough onto a cookie sheet, 1 inch apart. Decorate cookies with colored sugar or sprinkles, if desired.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until firm but not brown. Cool 2 minutes on flat Baking Stone; remove to cooling Rack. Repeat with remaining dough.
Yield: 6-7 dozen cookies (I got less). Nutrients per serving: (2 cookies): Calories 120
NOTE: If your cookie press does not have a leaf disk, other shapes will look equally nice and autumn-like when decorated with autumn-colored sugars.

I love these! I bought a new cookie press last fall with the intent to use it for Christmas cookies. I never did and I was thinking that I would have to wait until this Christmas to use. But, after seeing these, I'm inspired to use it for fall treats. I'd like to invite you to share these on Sweet Indulgences Sunday.

Wow! If I could figure out some way to get that leaf cookie off my computer screen I would eat it with the cup of coffee I'm drinking. It sure looks good! 🙂

Spritz cookies are one of my favorite holiday memories. I use the cookie press that was my mother's from many years ago. I don't think I have a leaf. These look so pretty.

I love spritz cookies and haven't made them in about 5 years now. I bought a battery operated spritz cookie maker and it works beautifully. I think it's time to dig it out. I won't be doing them for Thanksgiving but Christmas for sure~ Thanks for the recipe~ Hugs-Diana

Your idea is great. I have a leaf cookie cutter, but did not think of the multi-color sugar decoration. Love these.

What pretty cookies. They look like shortbread, and they're making my mouth water!

I haven't made those in years. I used to make them at Christmas but the recipe always made a ton and I seemed to be the only one who would eat them around here. Maybe I'll make some this year
