Seeing the adorable Heart Gift Tags made by Kelly Rowe @live laugh Rowe, I was inspired to make up a batch of my own. Tiny crocheted flowers attached to a tag card with a personalized greeting and a gift tied up with a simple length of chain stitch in a matching color makes a plain package look really special.
Embellish gift packages with crochet
Here is the pattern for the tiny flowers shown in the above photo:
Using a small amount of 4-ply cotton or worsted weight yarn in solid or variegated color and a size H crochet hook:
- create a slip knot
- chain 5; slip stitch in to the first chain creating a loop
- chain 2
- 2 double crochet into the loop
- chain 2
- slip stitch into the loop
- *chain 2, 2 double crochet, chain 2, slip stitch into loop* 4 times creating a total of five flower petals.
- Finish off by trimming yarn and pulling through then tying to knot.
Flowers can be attached to the the tags using glue, double sided tape or hot glue.

These are just precious! I do not crochet, and barely knit, but it is things like this that really make me want to learn. What special gifts these are, and how perfect for Mother's Day and other spring holidays.

These tags and pretty touches, are one of the best things that I have ever seen on blog land! They are just the cutest ever!!! The tiny hearts, flowers and the cherries are a gift in themselves, but added to a gift makes it over the top in my book! I am so impressed with your artistic skills and talents. God over blessed you with them my friend!

So cute Lorraine. You could even make a batch of sets of tags and ribbons and give that as a gift. Good way to use up leftovers too.

A very cute idea! For some reason I'm drawn to the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry colors:@)

I did something similar for Christmas, recycling cardboard for the tag, and a crocheted wreath. I love the colors you used.

Your recipients are very fortunate to receive such beautiful packaging. I never learned to crochet but years ago, I would dry flowers to decorate gift packages.
