Jared, Ella and I planned to spend the day with Jamie and the kids. When we arrived Jamie asked if we wanted to go on an adventure. We all climbed into her 12-passenger van and it was off the Camden Waterfront. What a gorgeous day with lower temps and humidity, a sky filled with fluffy white clouds, eight delighted children and a (round about) 😉 trek to the city. There was a mad dash to catch the ferry that shuttled us across the Delaware River.
From the ferry we could see on the Jersey banks, the Battleship New Jersey, The RCA building, Campbell’s Field, The Ben Franklin Bridge, the New Jersey State Aquarium and the Camden Children’s Garden. On the Philly side we saw Penn’s Landing and historic Philadelphia.
We walked through the streets and looking for just the right place to eat.
And we found it! An Asian cafe with seating on the quiet sidewalk under shady trees.
The food was delicious! We ended our meal with a wonderful plate of
Sesame Fried Bananas topped with Coconut Ice Cream!
It was such a lovely day that I texted John telling him I found the perfect day-outing for our anniversary in October. I even told our server at the restaurant we will see her then.
He is excited!
Sounds like a wonderful day for all!
It will be a truly delightful spot for your upcoming anniversary outing in October 🙂
What fun unexpected adventures are! This one looks like one I would love to partake in. Your photography captured it perfectly! The dessert at the Asian Cafe' looks amazing!!!
Nice to see the kids enjoying together.
The little one has his hands already on the key board !!
A spur of the moment adventure usually equals great fun in our family…looks like your adventure was a happy one!
That dessert alone would have made me very happy!
That looks like a wonderful impromptu day trip. A 12 person van sounds like a bus to me. Does she need a special license to drive it? 🙂 Ha! Have a great weekend. Tammy
Lol. An adventure it was.
Sounds like an unexpected pleasurable time! And a little research for your trip with your husband!
Love spur of the moment outings, looks like you had the perfect day for it.
What a fun day! I love the photos of you with the kids. And that dessert; oh my. I love coconut.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
What a beautiful day! Love all the photos. Hope you're having a nice weekend.
Looks like a great day out…we know that 'looking for a great place to eat' experience. With our kids and grandkids, the eating is a major part of a day out 🙂 The fried bananas look wonderful and to plan ahead for your anniversary is a good move!
Looks like a fantastic trip look at all your beautiful grandchildren!! Great pictures and the food looks yummy too!! Love Heather
I love days such as this! Your dessert looks wonderful. I wouldn't mind a nice ferry ride like that myself. xo
Oh-what a perfect, perfect day. I love those spur-of-the-moment days. They make my heart sing. You have such a beautiful family, Lorraine- xo Diana
Those sour of the moment adventures are oftentimes the best of all. This looks like so much fun. And the dessert? Oh my… ; ) glad you enjoyed it!
What a fun day! I love spur of the moment day trips! Last year, on a Saturday my hubby decided he wanted to go peach picking. So we packed up, drove to an orchard in MI, picked peaches and then spend the afternoon at the beach (michigan has great dune beaches on Lake Michigan!) It was so fun!
What a wonderful adventure…those adventures make life so sweet..and that desserts adds more icing on top
I love days like you describe here. I enjoyed the photos and that dessert has my name all over it!
I know Ella is going to miss you and your family so much when school starts.
