With tiny, lemon flavored, flower-shaped teacakes.
(the set/4 peacock plates and matching mug are 222 Fifth from HomeGoods; the linen napkins, milk glass votive, Wedgewood Crane dish are vintage pieces, the oil lamp a gift from my daughter, Jill before she was married; the lace tablecloth is a re-purposed curtain panel, peacock lamp a recent find during our March trip to Lancaster and the table and two chairs were given to me from daughter, Jamie several years ago)

The teacakes were baked in a silicone baking mould from Birkmann Millefleur and though there is an English version recipe, I needed to use my kitchen scale to measure grams.

PRINT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

60 g butter
60 g icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
1 egg
60 g flour
grated peel of half an untreated lemon

DIRECTIONS:

Blend butter, icing sugar and grated lemon peel.  Add the egg and beat until mixture becomes light and fluffy.  Gradually sift in the flour and mix to a smooth dough.  Fill the Millefleur mould and bake in oven at 170 C (350F) for about 25 minutes (I baked for 20 mins).  Dust the cakes with a little icing sugar when they have cooled down or coat with icing made from 2 Tbs. icing sugar and a little lemon juice.

Absolutely gorgeous!! I love peacocks and your dishes and decor are just perfect.

I have no clue how to measure grams ~ no kitchen scale ~ so will enjoy from afar.

Thanks for sharing such a splendid table!

What a beautitiful tablescape with the peacocks and blue and green hues. The china with the peacock was one I debated acquiring for it is so lovely. Your lamp and turquoise dish with the peacock are gorgeous. This is a pretty presentation with birds and the flowers so coordinated. I love how you used the table and chairs with the lace tablecloth/curtain for an airy outdoor feel. The lemon flower teacakes are so yummy looking and thanks for sharing the recipe.

Your table setting is so pretty and those cakes…..yum! They look so light. Here in the UK, the cakes that we call 'tea cakes' are more bread like, large flat and with dried fruit. We would slice, toast and butter them and eat with a cup of tea.

Now that is a coincidence. That first photograph…. just what we had for desert this last Sunday. And now the second photograph…. the perfect table for two, and I like that tapestry. Simply beautiful.
