Sweet, creamy and delicious on just about anything, this Amish peanut butter church spread recipe comes right from a young Amish mom’s kitchen. During a multi-course meal prepared and served in her home while her children quietly played nearby. Suzanne began our meal with a tossed salad, homemade bread and her peanut butter spread. Our group couldn’t get enough!

Making Amish peanut butter spread
Gather and measure ingredients.
In a large saucepan, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, Karo and water. Bring to a full boil over medium heat; reduce temperature to a simmer and cook 5 minutes. Cool for 1 hour.
How to make King Syrup Substitute
If King Syrup is not available where you live, you can make a substitute. Add 1/2 cup corn syrup, 1/4 cup molasses and 1/4 cup of a light-colored honey to a small bowl.
Whisk together until combined.
After the mixture in the pot is cooled, add the peanut butter, King syrup (or 3/4-cup of the substitute mixture), 1/2-cup marshmallow cream and 1/4 cup soft butter.
With a spatula or spoon, stir until all of the ingredients are combined and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Ladle the Amish peanut butter spread into jars or containers.
The recipe filled a little less that 6 1/2-pint jars. Seal the jars or containers when the spread is completely cool.
Storage of Amish peanut butter spread
Keep the jars of spread in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving for easier spreading. You might also give it just a few seconds in the microwave to warm just a little.
Use the creamy and sweet spread on crackers, muffins, toast, rolls or even pancakes. Add a pretty ribbon and label to a jar with a sleeve of crackers for a lovely gift for a friend or coworker just right for coffee break snacking. Amish peanut Butter church spread is easy to make and a great food gift to share.

Sounds so good. I have a weakness when it comes to peanut butter.
