I can’t explain it
But it still happens
It sends me right back to childhood.
From the instant I hear the siren in the distance
The anticipation and excitement wells up inside
And grows stronger as the shrill approaches
Here comes Santa Clause!
horn blasting… lights flashing…
The oldest child in the neighborhood.
Running out to greet you
e*v*e*r*y
year!
I had never heard of this til last night!
My son came home from his girlfriends house. She had been saying how she just wasn't feeling very 'christmassy' and then they hear the fire siren – he said she got a look in her eye and made him run outside with her – as she chased down the fire truck.
Oh to be young again!
oh what fun, Santa arriving on a fire truck. We have a Santa around here but the one time I did see him he wasn't a very convincing one. There sure is something magical about seeing Santa Claus though. I don't blame you one bit for running out to greet him every year
Ha WOnderful!! I would be right out there with ya running too lol!! ~Merry Christmas 🙂
What a JingleBell Ringing great post and mosaic! I'd be right there with you to see Santa! The kids running is a JOY to see…such a nice community tradition! Merry Christmas!
hehe you're so funny. i know what you mean, there are things which brings the child out in all of us or take us right back to those good ole days 🙂
and what a nice job santa has!
You really captured that feeling with your photos and the very clever mosaic. I loved this post.(I especially love seeing the children bounding down the sidewalk ahead of the fire truck. What joy!)
Such fun! We went to meet Santa too on a yellow fire truck as he came through the neighborhood. He stopped and sat on the back to take pictures with the children. Laura would not sit on his lap. I was so busy with her I was not able to capture a photo of Santa or the truck. Thank you for posting and sharing your child's heart. As always lovely photos!
OH! How fun!!!
