Playing with Mom-Mom’s Barbie’s

By Lorraine

Our daughter and family from New York are leaving
Friday morning after a week long visit.
We had such a great time together.
Sharing my favorite childhood Barbie dolls with my
granddaughters, Brenna & Shaela was such fun!

Brenna and Buffy
(with Mrs. Beasley at bottom right corner of photo)

Shaela’s little hands dressing a doll

Playing with Barbie, Francie, Casey, Skipper, Tutti and friends.

This is my dear mom in a photo taken this Easter.
Remember I told you what a perfectionist she was at sewing?
Well, take a look at some of her knitted work.
I am amazed at the tiny detail in each dress and accessory.
I don’t think she even used a pattern.

This incredible suitcase and shoulder bag both open
and the suitcase has compartments.

Outfits for my Tammy and Pepper dolls.

All dolled up!
(ha! My feeble attempt at a pun)

Beautiful dolls and handmade dresses made by my mom played with by me as a child and my daughters and now my granddaughters.
♥

Love this post! How great that you kept those treasured toys and your granddaughters can play with them now.

I love the hand designed clothes! My favorite Barbie clothes were definitely the one's my mom and grandmother made for me.

There were a few that were my favorites. One was a satin red ball gown with little white stars all over the skirt and the other a crocheted lacy dress. I gave all those things to my niece. I kind of wish I had kept some of them now.

You must have been the envy of every girl in town with that collection of Barbies. And the clothes, your mom does amazing work. I wish I would have saved mine but I doubt they would have looked that good.

Isn't that wonderful! I have some patterns for knitting those kind of clothes for barbies, my gran used to make them for my dolls, but having two boys the only one I ever used was the pattern for Action Man Ski suit! Your Mom did a great job and you have kept those outfits so beautifully.

Brenna & Shaela are so beautiful ~ they certainly look like they're having a wonderful time with Mom-Mom's dolls. What a special treat. It's so nice that you still have all of them. I love the little Buffy doll (and Mrs Beasley too of course). Oh how I wish I still had my Tammy & Pepper dolls. They were my favorites.
What sweet treasures all those handmade outfits are. I'm sure they bring back lovely memories of your own childhood fun.
