My Dear Mother Poem

Vintage and Framed, My Dear Mother Print and Poem by M Black with muted shades of daisy-like flowers circa 1945.I never met my grandmother.
She passed away at the age of 44 leaving 11 children,
most of whom were still in their elementary and teen years.
The adult children helped raise their younger siblings.
My mom was third oldest.

Grandmother

A photo of my grandmother, Catherine Mary,
taken on the Atlantic City boardwalk before she married.

Words to the My Dear Mother Poem

Mother, Dear Mother, When I think of you,

I want to be all that is fine, That is true.

All that is worthy, Noble or grand,

Has come from you Mother, From your guiding hand.

Love it! The vignette is wonderful! I'm a little jealous of the dried hydrangeas! Everything is so pretty, your little dog, too! I'm new to the blogging world and just became a follower of your blog! I hope you'll visit my blog, too!

Your grandmother was very pretty, how sad that she had such a short life. That is a wonderful treasure that you have there.

How lovely this momento and your Grandmother was a stunner! I wish more women wore hats. I love them and it seems that if you wear one these days people seem it odd.

Giving away my age here I remember those whicker trollys on the Boardwalk in Atlantic city. I wish I had riden in one when they were still used.

What a treasure to have that gift from your mom to her mom! Your Grandmother's dress looks almost exactly like one my Grandmother is wearing in her wedding photo! They were 'stylin' ladies!
    Blessings!
