Mildred Daylily

By Lorraine

One of my first blog followers soon became a dear friend.
We have shared our hearts, prayed for and encouraged one another though we have never met in person.
Mildred Daylily was a gift from a friend. The blossoms open to reveal the lovely pink, green and chartreuse colors as it blooms in my front garden and reminds me of her thoughtfulness and our friendship each time I see it.
Last summer I mentioned that I really liked a photo she posted of a Mildred daylily that bears her name.

Mildred Daylily

Mildred Daylily was a gift from a friend. The blossoms open to reveal the lovely pink, green and chartreuse colors as it blooms in my front garden and reminds me of her thoughtfulness and our friendship each time I see it.
And this sweet friend separated one of her daylilies and sent me a piece.
I carefully planted it, surrounded it with chicken wire to prevent our critters from reaching it and watched the little cutting through the autumn leaves and winter snow.

What a joy to see it sending up green shoots this spring and grow taller and form buds. The first blossoms have opened to reveal the lovely pink, green and chartreuse colors as it blooms in my front garden and reminds me of her thoughtfulness and our friendship each time I see it.
Currently Blooming
Mildred has blessed us many times over and I am so thankful for her friendship!

Friendship is so beautiful! and your new daylily is too. I wish their blooms lasted longer though.

I must get off line soon but I'm having such fun. Well, except for using shabby blogs background and it doesn't quite cover my whole blog, and I'm clueless. Do you have any ideas about how I could fix this ? Wishing you a nice day!

I'm so happy you are enjoying the daylily! You and John have been such faithful prayer warriors and loving, compassionate Christian friends to us. We thank God for meeting you through blogging.
I love the mosaic and only wish I could sit on the porch with you for a cup of coffee and enjoy the flowers and birds!
