Great Is Thy Faithfulness

By Lorraine

Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Thomas Obediah Chisholm
(1866-1960)
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee;

Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed thy hand hath provided;
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

    I can't tell you how many times I sing that song in my heart. The words bring me such great comfort. The way you added beauty to the words, only added to the blessing of me reading this post.

    This is one of my favorite Scriptures, paired with one of my favorite hymns! Oh, the faithfulness of our Father!

    Oh, dear friend – These words mean so much to me. More today than before. Yesterday I led a small gathering in this song during a time of worship at a dear friend's wedding to a wonderful man. They both had lost spouses to illness – and theirs was a precious story of God's faithfulness. This morning I stood with others from a Spanish class at our church to sing this beautiful hymn in Spanish as a part of what God is doing to bring together cultures within our community. What a precious treasure we have – His faithfulness. No matter what. Summer and winter. Springtime and harvest. Thank you for sharing it here.
