Chamomile Lavender Mint Iced Tea
Yield: Makes 14 cups
INGREDIENTS
- 1 loosely packed cup fresh mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried chamomile (or 4 chamomile tea bags)
PREPARATION
1. Crush mint leaves and put in a 1-gal. lidded jar. Add lavender and chamomile.
2. Fill jar with water to within 2 in. of rim. Cover and refrigerate 6 hours. Pour through a cheesecloth-lined colander into pitcher for serving.
My Changes
Heat to boiling 4 cups of water
Add
- 1/4 cup loosely packed mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp. lavender
- 1/8 cup chamomile flowers but I think I could have doubled this
After steeping 5-7 minutes, I thought it made a flavorful hot tea.
I allowed it too cool completely without straining and did not think it became bitter or too strong.
Sweetened with honey and served over ice.
If you have a chamomile tea recipe, I’d love if you would shared it!

Drinking chamomile tea soothes the nervous system so that you can sleep better. It has been used as a solution for insomnia for centuries. See the link below for more info.

I just bookmarked this tea recipe to give it a try. I love lavender, mint, and chamomile, so there's no doubt I will try this recipe. The chamomile blossoms are so beautiful! Makes me anxious to start growing some herbs! By the way, happy spring to you! Tomorrow is the first day of spring! YAY! 🙂

I prefer black tea too, but I really like chamomile tea and jasmin tea. I should look for chamomile plants and add them to my garden too (thank you for the great idea). Wonderful pictures.

Now, funnily enough, chamomile is one of the few herbal teas I really don't like, but perhaps with the mint it might be better. Your photographs are beautfully styled today.

That has got to be the prettiest glass of tea I have ever seen. I've never tried making tea any other way than from the bags you buy in the store. I'm a lazy tea drinker 🙂
