all is well

By Lorraine

a little wet
a little wind blown
We had a couple of shutters blown off the house and a large, heavy bench from the porch end up in a flower bed, but nothing that could have been.  We are very thankful. Many are still without power.  The number of power outages in New Jersey from hybrid storm Sandy climbed to 2.7 million. As I type, our utility company still has 900,000 customers without power.
Yesterday I drove to Jamie’s for some time with the kids.  Lots of traffic lights out and a detour from a downed tree but no problem getting there.  Caleb was so excited to see a crew mulching fallen branches.
Drizzly cold and windy, we got some outside time while jumping in a pile of wet leaves
 and a warm hug
a little baking
 a 1st hurricane deserves a 1st lollipop ~ it was well received!
and almost shared with a friend 🙂

The news coverage and photos of the shore points are incredible.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
A lot of work for Ocean City, NJ to look like this, this, or this again.

I'm playing catch up with my blog reading. So glad to see y'all are safe. Living in Louisiana I know way more than I'd like about hurricanes. Not fun!

The pictures of the storm are still painful for me, especially of my favorite Ocean City, NJ. I am thankful that God took care of you and your family during the storm. Your pictures show warmth and love through it all.

I am glad to hear you are okay! We have been without power since Monday night and it's really getting hard. We were able to find a hotel room for last night, but it's back to our cold houses in a few hours. The devastation is overwhelming at times for our beloved NY and NJ shoreline! Stay safe!

Glad that you all were ok — we ended up right on the edge — blessed! High winds to the north….flooding to the east….and snow to the west…we were in the perfect spot this time.

Hi Lorraine. Glad to hear you and your family are safe. The devastation here on SI and in NJ is almost too much to conceive. I am so grateful to have power, although ConEd brings us down at night luckily we get brought back up. xo
