A few tips for growing classic perennial Shasta Daisies
- Shasta Daisies return every spring or early summer and bloom until early fall.
- They prefer full sun though my plants are growing along the walkway are next to the garage and receive only morning light.
- Soil should be moderately fertile, not overly rich, and moist but well-drained.
- Shasta daisies tend to bloom in clumps from 2 to 3 feet tall
- They are a great for cutting
- Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.
- After the first killing frost, cut stems back to an inch or two above the soil line.
- Every spring, apply some compost and mulch to help control weds
- Every 3 to 4 years, divide perennials in early spring or late summer. Share the love with friends and neighbors with cuttings or divisions. Populate the world with Shasta Daisies 🙂
