I love when I come across an easy holiday project that works up quickly and is cute. Crochet Poinsettia Flower is just that kind of project and can be used in many different ways.

Our oldest daughter is the only one of our four girls that actually enjoys crochet as much as the matriarchs in our family did. When I showed Erin a poinsettias pattern I found, she immediately made a couple while waiting for a doctor appointment. She sent me a few photos of her finished work and I loved how they turned out.
I recently received a comment from a reader who told me she wants to make a wreath for a friend using crocheted poinsettia. So, I began searching to see what is available. Not only is this pattern very quick and easy, I just love the way it looks. The pattern in the YouTube video below is by Laura of Happy Berry Crochet. Her instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Look how fun gift packages look topped with a festive poinsettia. Almost too cute to unwrap! It’s a little like getting two gifts ~ what’s inside the box and an ornament to boot.
Layered poinsettia
Sew two flowers, one on top of the other to create a layered version. Remember that you can use any weight of yarn if you adjust the hook size to that particular yarn. Sport weight yarn and a smaller hook will produce a smaller flower. These poinsettia were made using medium weight 4-ply acrylic yarn with a US size H hook
So, pick up a couple skeins of yarn, grab your crochet hook, get comfy on the sofa and watch a favorite Christmas movie while you make a bunch of poinsettia to brighten the season. Send pics when your done!
