I am usually not a collector but I do hold dear my very sweet, vintage postcards and ephemera. Sharing a collection of vintage postcards from the early 1900’s with lovely flower, bird and holiday designs and sweet messages in a beautiful script.
The postcards fit perfectly in this gorgeous crystal box that was given to me from my daughter. More contemporary in design than my other crystal pieces, I love the facets on the lid that catch and play with light!

I love the beautiful handwriting on this one!
A one cent stamp postmarked 1909.

Love the upside down, askew stamp too.

ahhh – I love those!!! I like to send postcards but mine are always pictures of the places I'm at … I should try sending a random cute one like those 🙂

Such beautiful objects. I have a few vintage post cards and some greeting cards from my grandparents's gas station/grocery store in the country. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a great place to keep or display them. jan

What a wonderful collection and I love the pretty crystal box you keep them in. The handwriting is amazing, along with the 1 cent stamp, and of course I'm admiring all the beautiful birds! I wish we still exchanged greetings this way. It is truly a lost art. Thanks for a sweet "blast from the past!"

That is indeed a lovely collection! My husband and I always send postcards to the boys when we are out of town…even for a couple days, but they are the touristy kind. The thing is…the have kept them all! Once, being silly…we sent them one from our hometown to them in college and wrote "Wish you were here!"

Those are beautiful vintage postcards! My mother was a collector of postcards of all kinds from all over. I have some of here collection of few of them are quite old, postmarked early 1900's from Paris and Germany with landscape scenes. I like the beautiful artwork on yours.
One thing I like to do when I shop at antique stores is look at the postcards. I am always intriuged to see what people wrote on them.

What a lovely collection you have and that crystal box is beautiful. Imagine only one cent to send a postcard, and then it was probably thought to be quite pricey 🙂 I do remember when my children were little, my mother would send cards and always address my sons with Master on it

These bring back so many memories. My grandmother kept every postcard her relatives from Germany would send to her. And they were all written in German. When my grandmother passed away, my cousin quickly went through her things and took most of all the really nice things, like her postcard collection. I miss seeing them. I have a few that she had given to me when I was younger. Great collection!

Postcards are a wonderful thing to collect and your collection is really beautiful! I love the bluebird birthday postcard…there's something about those "distant scenes" surrounded by a close-up that appeal to me!
It blesses my heart to know that the postcard I sent you is a favorite of yours!

I love vintage postcards but only have a few. The illustrations are so sweet and the handwriting and names are always interesting too. That's a lovely box to keep yours in. I remember seeing a postcard in a special frame one time that was glass on both sides so that you could see both the front and back without actually handling the card.
