Sometimes it’s nice to be totally distracted from all our busyness.
One of our favorite ways is to become complete engrossed in a jigsaw puzzle.
Of course, the timing has to be right.
It can’t be when you are having company over because the puzzle will be sprawled out over the dining room table for a while.
It can’t be when little ones will be visiting because a lost piece is a very sad finish.
It can’t be when you have lots on your plate because you will find yourself spending way too many minutes every time you pass by looking for just one more piece.
But, a few times a year, we enjoy being hunched over the dining room table sorting end pieces from center ones, grouping similar looking pieces and searching for a particular shape or color. Then relishing the satisfaction each time we find a perfect fit and tap it into its place.
It’s kind of nice when things go together well and you can see the big picture getting clearer.
Life doesn’t always work that way.
That’s where faith and trust comes in.

What an interesting puzzle! I love puzzles too, but can become obsessed with one when I have it out on the table.

Hi LDH,
How nice, just time to veg and enjoy each other. We don't stop often enough and do this for ourselves. Thanks for the sweet reminder and your meaningful verse. Do it again today!

That looks like a good winter project! I will have to get one to keep set up in the playroom.

I haven't done a puzzle in years. It used to be a lot of fun but so frustrating when you got to the end and found that a piece was missing. Love your mosaic.

I have never really done a lot of puzzles. But for the last few family vacations we took, we always put a puzzle together. It is nice. I think I might purchase a few to have out during the winter. They are a nice project to work on with someone you love on long cold days.

I just knew I clicked out of here before my post went through before. Did you know that from this end there is a really long delay between hitting Post Comment and your scrambled word coming up? Several times I have hit the X to close out and then the word popped up. Maybe it's just my own computer thing but it only happens on your blog and one other. Hey…don't shoot the messenger…just telling ya! lol
Soooo…about the puzzles…what I said before was that my family all loves a good puzzle…excpet MyHero who could care less…but we seem to always pull them out in the Fall/Winter. I don't think I've ever done one in the summer.
Have you ever tried one of those mats that you get that they SAY you can roll your puzzle right up in and it doesn't mess up a piece…then you just unroll it next time you want to continue. I'm wondering if those things really work.
Have a Happy Labor Day tomorrow. I'll be laboring! Diana

The puzzle looks like so much fun. My two college history teaching friends and their three teens would LOVE this particular puzzle. I love the verse you shared today too.
Wishing you all a nice and restful Labor Day Lorraine.
I know how you love to cook – I found a new cookbook and the author has a blog with free recipes that you might enjoy (my last post) I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but they sound very good!!!
