bug he wanted me to photograph.
I shouldn’t be surprised. John was a biology
major in college. That must be why he is always
dragging me somewhere to see some critter or creature.
This photo brought to mind a song by one of my favorite artists.
When John and I go on long driving trips, we take the music of Fernando along, stick it into the player, turn it loud and enjoy.
His songs lift my heart to worship mode!
This song is different from his usual style. I am not sure if the song has a deeper meaning or if it is just a fun song.
Dragonfly
Come a little closer, dragonfly
Settle down with me a little while
I’m turning off the phone and enterprise
I could use your company, all right
Hey, hey dragonfly
I’d like to stare into your big bug eyes
Get a closer look at your fine wings
Think about some fleeting, pretty things
Hey, hey, hey dragonfly
Come a little closer, dragonfly
Little sapphire slipping through the sky
Between the skaters and the fishing lines
My, my, my dragonfly
Hey, hey dragonfly
I’d like to stare into your big bug eyes
Get a closer look at your fine wings
Think about some fleeting, pretty things
Hey, hey, hey dragonfly
Hey, hey, hey dragonfly
Come a little closer, dragonfly
I love the quiet air you occupy
I’m sitting down right here, right now, alone
To hear the river lapping at the stone
Hey, hey dragonfly
I’d like to stare into your big bug eyes
Get a closer look at your fine wings
Think about some fleeting, pretty things
Hey, hey, hey dragonfly
Hey, hey, hey dragonfly
Hey, hey, dragonfly
I’d like to ride with you tonight
Take in your show, take up your life
Dragonfly, I really like your style

Beautiful photo! Its wings look sooo delicate and lacy.
Thanks for sharing that song. I had never heard it before. My niece's nursery was in dragonflies and I had drawn her a dragonfly with her name throughout it.
Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment.

I like the song! I'm thinking it must be an analogy to getting back to nature and communing with God. Something we all need to do! My son hates dragonfly season here which only comes once a year … they are usually swarming when he has PE on the tabletop at school (that's a roof area where there is a soccer field). He doesn't like bugs of any sort. :/
Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
