Have you ever fallen a little behind…
then further
and further
and further behind…
That’s what has happened here on my blog.
So many activities and happenings there is barely time to think sometimes. I tried to keep snapping pics as days went by but had little time to even take a look at them. This is some of the highlights of our past couple months.
If you aren’t a family member you will be terribly bored and may just want to come back another day when I share a short and sweet recipe.
But for the brave…
Springtime began with long needed replacement windows then John had the joy of installing 18 new blinds. Onto pressure washing the porch, patio, walkways and all the siding I could reach.
New pillow covers made to brighten up and add new life to the getting-older cushions already there.
Mother’s Day with John and Abbey and playtime with the kids
A fun double surprise birthday party for dear neighbors
A lovely day at Rowan University with John and three of his college friends. It was the first time back since they all graduated and when it was called Glassboro State College
Lots of sweet lovin’ from my Raider
A birthday party for AJ
Yard work ~ lots of yard work, pulling out bushes, planting and all of the stuff required to get the yard in shape!
A very special invitation to John and I to join AJ for dinner at a an up-sale eatery so that he could ask our blessings and approval to marry our oldest daughter, Erin. Our hearts are filled with joy about this long awaited answered prayer for this precious family. He knows we have long loved him as a son and couldn’t ask for a better guy to officially join our family!
Our oldest grandson, Jared was nominated for Student of the Month (of almost 800 Sophomore students) and was recognized at a regional award ceremony.
A month later, Jared received a gold medal and certificates for placing summa cum laude on the National Latin Exam.
Earlier this week we joined our daughter, Jamie and her family and dear in-laws for a couple of days at their Ocean City, NJ rental. (photo above is Josh and Jamie with their children, Keri, Noah, Silas, Caleb, Cambrie, Chloe and Jethro.
The day was sunny, breezy and cool. Those courageous children had no trouble in the 62 degree water as well as digging for crabs!
Pop-Pop John loving his grandchildren
Me with our sweethearts
I don’t remember ever enjoying the beach as much as this day
The three older kids went with us for lunch, sightseeing and playtime at a nearby playground. We found a bench with a marker honoring a long-time marriage of a Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop so Keri Jill snapped a photo of us behind it.
And though we don’t often see these precious ones, they are never far from our thoughts and prayers.
Missing you Ryan, Brenna and Shaela!
Also ~ Twice weekly treks to physical therapy for sciatic and issues with IT band (Iliotibial band) that is causing lots of knee pain. Therapy is helping but I have more to go. I have been stretching and pulling my body in ways that I never thought possible 😉

I am not your family, but I must tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and looking through every single picture. What an extra special family has gifted you with! Milestones and memories are filling your lives, and I think it is so sweet that you share bits of it with us. I understand the total busyness of it all. Even the pictures depict that.
Whenever you have time to post, I for one, will be so happy to catch up with you.
A big congratulations to Jared! What an honor for him!
Another big congratulations to your daughter on her engagement!
The pictures of you and John are priceless!

I loved seeing all the fun family gatherings. I totally understand what you mean about getting behind-we moved a month ago and I'm still trying to settle in; now our youngest daughter's house sold and we are trying to find them a new home. Not sure when life will slow down, but it is a blessing to share in it all. I've had two bouts with sciatica and know your pain-praying it heals quickly.
