The theme of this embroidery sample is our 35th wedding anniversary.
Here it is all finished and our anniversary isn’t until October!
I have never before finished a project so far in advance!
It was so fun to make and a very relaxing and enjoyable craft project.
Remember this Valentine’s Day post when I was inspired by Ann Martin @ all things paper, to make these pretty little paper quilled hearts?
This heart fills the center square of the sampler.

Originally, I Googled how to write in Hebrew the Bible verse,
Song of Songs 6:3
(I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine).
I stitched it onto my sampler and then used a translator from Hebrew to English.
It was not correct, so… out came the stitches.
I thought about writing out the verse all around the four sides, but I rejected that idea too.
Simply writing the word Beloved seemed best.

Very, very lovely! A treasure, for sure! And how awesome that you have it completed way before time…(I have so many "unfinished" quilt tops and now I'll be starting on some smocking!)
Blessings & Aloha!

What a 'timepiece' for your family.
I have never been very good at stitching. In fact my sister gave birth to her first child in 1988. My sweet little niece was born with a myriad of birth defects. They said she would never, walk, talk, think, or live to be past 20 years old.
I started a cross stitch project for her room – 'the little train that could' – and I couldn't! My sweet niece will be 22 this July. She walks, talks, thinks – although she is mentally about the age of a 6 year old, she has been a wonderful blessing to our family.
Th cross stitch project – still has not been finished. I guess having your hand in too many pots – can be as bad and not having it in one.
I have treasured embroidery pieces from my grandmother, that have stood the test of time and told the story of her life. How wonderful to think that yours will as well!
Treasure the weekend!

It's been about 27 years since I embroidered but I enjoyed it so much as a teen and young adult :o)

Lovely! How long did it take you to make this? My mom embroidered our pillow cases when we were kids. I still have on of them. Looking at it now, I appreciate the hard work she put into making the it.
