I finally got out to cut the remainder of the blossoms from the hydrangea bushes. It has been cold and we have had a few frosts so I didn’t want to wait any longer.
The bushes didn’t do as well as they usually do, probably because of the very hot and dry summer we had.
Though fewer, the flowers are still beautiful.
As they dry their vibrant colors will soften to gentle heather tones. |

I love hydrangeas. I have one bush that was a piece from one of my dads. He used to have several very large ones at his house.

My mom dries these too and gives them to me. Love, love, love! This is one of the prettiest dried flowers I think.

Like all the other gals, I just love Hydrangea's! I like to make a wreath with the dried blooms, but this year I didn't get a single one ~ those naughty deer ate them all! Your's are just the perfect Autumn colors!
Blessings!

Oh, how we love our hydrangeas! Ours in this area are always the green or white ones. Even ammending the soil only helps temporarily and then they revert back. My daughter had hydrangeas for her wedding..the blue and lavender ones composed her bridal bouquet and each girl carried them. It was so pretty. Lovely, Lorraine…lovely! Hugs-Diana

Your blossoms are so pretty Lorraine. I will never forget the Christmas Mother and I toured a historic home which had a tree decorated with dried hydrangea blooms.

What wonderful colors. Don't you just love the beauty in God's creation. It is hard to fathom heaven. If he can make such beauty and diversity in just the simple flowers and creatures, what will the heavenly city be like. Streets of gold….Until then we can enjoy our current beauty. Thanks for sharing your lovely flowers. Lisa
