Use crochet rosettes to embellish footwear
Get ready for summer with fancy footwear. Perk up an inexpensive pair of flip-flops with rosettes made in a cotton yarn. So cute for beach and boardwalk strolling.
Attaching rosettes to flip-flops
Glue isn’t a good option to use to attach the rosettes to a flip-flop. To keep them securely in place, drill little holes and sew the rosettes onto the flip-flops with yarn and a large-eye needle like you would sew on a button. Lots of ways to use crochet rosettes around the home
Decorate a simple wooden frame in soft neutral colors.
Embellish a jar top with a large rosette, add a matching ribbon and make a Worry Jar. Especially helpful for kids who tend to carry the weight of the world on their young shoulders.

Three rosette sizes
The rosettes can be made in three different sizes as indicated in the parenthesis in the pattern.
For the large rosette, begin with chain 53
For the medium rosette, begin with chain 35.
For the small rosette bud, begin with chain 17.
Be sure to follow the same instructions throughout the pattern.
Rosette Pattern
G crochet hook
Ch 17 (35, 53).
Row 1 Dc in 5th ch from hook – first V-stitch made, *ch 1, skip 1, (dc-ch-dc) in next ch – V-stitch made; repeat from * across; – 7 (16, 25) V-stitches made. Turn.
Row 2 Ch 3 – counts as dc, 5 dc first in ch-space, *sc in next ch-1 space, 6 dc in next ch-1 space – shell st made; repeat from *, ending 6 dc in last ch-1 space – 7 (16, 25) shells. Fasten off, leaving long tail for anchoring Rosette.
Finishing the rosettes
Thread needle with tail and weave to base of last st. Starting at that end, roll first shell tightly to form center bud; anchor at base of shell with 2 sts. Roll remaining strip to form Rosette, then secure by stitching in and out through layers of foundation ch at bottom of Rosette.
If you want to make your Rosette a pin or barrette, sew or glue pin back or barrette back to back of Rosette.

My crochet skills are minimal, but the rosettes actually appear doable, so I'm going to see what happens.

Sweet ideas! I like the worry jar! I have an enevelope stashed away from more than 30 years ago with some worries on slips of paper. It's interesting to go back and see how they have become non worries. If we could only learn that total trust once and for all!

Oh what a beautiful rosie share this morning. I am SO in love with these roses. My only problem I can't crochet a stitch. I have been told I have two left hands and all have given up on me.
