I was warned by everyone I told
Jamie’s reply was, “Eew” and “that I could always paint over it.” 😉
Jamie’s reply was, “Eew” and “that I could always paint over it.” 😉
but I had a vision
I saw it in my minds eye
unexpected * bright * cheerful * garden-like * whimsical
lime green
what I envisioned it would be
sometimes
in certain lighting
during the day with natural lighting the color is beautiful
but in the evening with the lights on…
well, not as lovely
I’ll be able to live with it for a while and will enjoy the fun change.
But just not sure where I will go next with the wall color
~*~
The paint color I finally settled on is called Fresh Pear
Just on one wall. The other walls are painted white.

Thanks for leaving your comment on my post about failure. I have to say, the room itself is stunning! And I totally see where you were trying to go with the color…
… and now I'm off to see what color you have in there now. I have a feeling it's amazing.

With your decorating touches and the way you have with lighting and vignettes, I beleive that I would find myself saying, "it is beautiful to any color paint you would choose." Really, Your room is so pretty!!!

Is that really your house? Where humans live? Looks like a model. That color is great, not at all like institutional puke green, but not too intense.

I like it and at one point I painted my office at work a warm green. It was very nice. The next person painted it grey. Sigh.
I'm over from Ann's as she featured you today.
Your home is lovely.
Have a terrific day. 🙂

You could try changing your lighting. Warmer/cooler lighting makes a huge difference.

Very pretty shade of green. Green is my favorite color, nearly all of the shades. You did a great job on the walls and decor 🙂
Ann says
That is a pretty color. It's a shame that the lighting has to change the effect.

It's nice to change things up. Always takes a little getting used to. You may grow to love it more, or not. The great thing is it is easily changeable. Your living room is lovely no matter the color of the wall. Happy holidays! Tammy

I love just about every shade of green and think this one is really lovely. I'd keep it if I were you. Love your wreath too. Very pretty.

Green is a very tricky color. My green looks wonderful in the daylight, at night with the lighting, I am so disappointed in it. Your living room looks gorgeous. I love the mantel. xo

Lorraine your home is absolutely beautiful!! It is just dreamy and your decorations are marvelous!!
I like your new color. I like bold choices. It's bright, happy and lovely all at the same time!!
Oh dear I don't know if I dare share any pictures after we get our home decorated. That is if we can get it done this year. That's a long story involving my husband and issues he has with storage areas…lol!!
Happy day!:-)

I like it under certain lights, but that's because (are you ready?) I painted our laundry room in that same shade from Benjamin Moore. I don't like it as much under artificial light, but I'll have to live with it for a while as it is a lot of work to re-paint!

Oh I think ii is just lovely. Believe it or not my daughter has done a VERY similar shade to her living room area. She started off with it on all the walls, but then changed it by leaving an accent wall here and there and the rest a creamy shade of white. Turned out soo pretty. And I never would have thought it. When she first mentioned it, my thought was Oh no…haha. She "saw" it too. Your house is quite beautiful btw. Enjoy your day!

Our living room and kitchen are painted light green and I love your accent wall painted green. Looks very clean and crisp. Sometimes you can try different kinds of light bulbs and it makes a big difference at night.

You have a good eye, Lorraine! Love your new color!

It looks lovely! I always love the combination of an intense colour and fresh white woodwork…. For my home, I settled on a medium to light blue, which has a hint of lavender. It combines well with white and greys, different types of wood, but it also tolerates coloursplurges in accesoiries and flowers. I think it looks bright and fresh in full light and the darker it gets, the warmer the colour gets.
And yes, you could always paint over it. You could also paint over white walls. People who say that, usually are afraid to use cólours themselves…

Your mantle is gorgeous! Love it!! I like the color, it looks fresh and clean. It is a happy color and I think that you chose a great color for your wall! It is pretty with your Christmas mantle too!
I used a similar color and I love it. It does take on a different color at night, but I like it!
podso says
I like it! But I'm partial to that kind of green. But I know what you mean about different lighting and how it looks. Have you ever thought of gray? (and there are many grays). But this green enhances your Christmas mantle. Enjoy it!
